Flowers for the Belgian Beau

Helmut Lotti and the Golden "Symphonic Orchestra" in the "fair parc hall" of Trier

by our collaborator Oliver Ruf

Ladies' swarm: Helmut Lotti during his performance in the Fair Parc Hall of Trier.

Trier. Hot Latino songs, soulful love songs and mind-blowing Elvis songs Helmut Lotti has in his program. About all the female fans had longed for the concert in the Fair Parc Hall. The 32 years old singer presented himself passionated.

The Belgian Beau really cleared away. Always with a smile on his lips he's flirting with the audience, sings about love and swings cheekily his hips. He's loved by ladies of every age, his female fans bring flowers in all varieties to the concert. Meanwhile the 32 years old super star may be used to the fact, that the women's world is upside down during his concerts.

1700 auditors don't want to miss the passionated performance in the Fair Parc Hall of Trier. From time to time they have to stand in line, to be able to hand over their gift to their swarm.

Many kisses for the ladies.

For everyone Lotti takes his time and is giving kisses, while he's presenting "Latino Love Songs" in the tenor's register. What began as a success story of pop music in his homeland, is continued on the actual record and at the tour with Latin American Classics.

Helmut Lotti is not the one who lets put himself in a pigeon hole. So he is not to put in the edge of the pop singers or only to be called as new star tenor. 1995 the smart singer managed the breakthrough with a popular song mix. "O Sole mio" or "La Paloma" are still songs which are played very often. Since then his repertoire has changed, his recipe of success has remained the same: Lotti is young, good looking and is about all disposing of a first class voice.

The first part of the concert he dedicates to Latin America, coos "Cucurrucu" into the micro, while wearing a dark suit with red sash and dances to the music of the 40 headed Golden Symphonic Orchestra. The conductor André Walschaerts may also enjoy the audience's attention this evening. His instrumentalists supply a masterly accompany.

"Guantanamera" is a must, "Amor, Amor, Amor" is one of the Latino Classics and the audience is filled with enthusiasm about. Clapping with is a must too, when Lotti is letting himself be cheered. Consequently the women's captivator makes every effort to ensure the enjoyment of the auditors, comes down from the stage, walks trough the rows and is doing his reputation as a continuous kisser of powdered cheeks credit. Caribbean sounds are interpreted between hugs, tango rhythms can be heard, and Helmut Lotti spices his repertoire with a good pinch of humour.

Ideal son-in-law in immaculate evening dress

Maybe it is also this mix of charm and eye twinkle, that the popularity of the "ideal son-in-law" is undiminshed. Before the break the Lotti - protégé Michael junior is presented. The 15 years old is allowed to sing "Azzurro" and "Volare" and he's enjoying the audience with clear sounds and soft voice. Althugh he's still very young, Michael is already very professionell, say thanks after every song, is holding eye contact with the audience and as well he has learned a lot by watching his mentor Lotti. Meanwhile Lotti is converting from a Spanish Torero into the world opera singer and shows himself in evening dress. Again he let swing his hip and let rise Elvis Presley. As encore there's a medley of the Rock'n Roll idol at the end.

But before in the second part "Amazing Grace" and "Kalinka" replace the ardent torero hits. And if he had to prove it again, "You've got a friend" is played, a capella. The fans of Rock are thankful for "Bohemian Rhapsody". The singer of Queen, Freddy Mercury, surely would have enjoyed the orchestra version.
